42, Alleyway in Livorno, oil on wood, 30 by 40 cm, 2011. Whenever I am in a town or village by the sea, I have the feeling that the waterfront is at the end of the every street and alley. As a matter of fact, that was true in Livorno. However, the beach was not open to the public. Fenced off privately owned plots are side by side. There was only a tiny stretch of beach open to the public which, however, was jammed with beach chairs.

42, Viuzza a Livorno, olio su legno, 30 x 40 cm, 2008.
