Die Häuser in der Grazer Schumanngasse zeichnen sich unter anderem dadurch aus, dass sie Gärten im Hinterhof haben, die den Lebensraum erheblich erweitern. Im durchleuchtenden Grün zwischen den Fassaden meiner Stadtarchitektur erzähle ich malerisch darüber. Das Bild ist meinen Nachbarn gewidmet. Ohne diesen Hinterhof würde ich meine Nachbarn wahrscheinlich nur flüchtig kennen, wie es in Stadthäusern oft üblich ist. Für mich gilt das aber eigentlich nicht, ich hatte selbst in den Wohnungen ohne Garten beinah innige Verhältnisse zu meinen Nachbarn.
fwbd2,12, City Architecture with Backyards, oil on canvas, 80 cm by 80 cm, 2003 and 2006: The houses in the Schumanngasse in Graz, among other things, have the distinction of green backyards, which enlarge the living space considerably. With the shining green between the facades of my city architecture I pictorially talk about it. The picture is dedicated to my neighbours. Without this backyard, I would meet my neighbours only briefly on the stairs, as is often the case in cities. This is not really true for me because I had an almost close relationship to my neighbours even when I lived in flats without backyards.
