In dem Bereich Richtung Arno, wo wir an unserem Ankunftsabend zuerst angehalten hatten, sah die Straße etwas mitgenommen aus, mit viel herumliegendem Müll. Der Bereich, derselben Straße, der näher beim Dom ist, wirkt deutlich repräsentativer. Das hat mich später zu zwei unterschiedlichen Fassadenbildern angeregt, das eine mit gedämpften Farben, das andere mit bunten Farben und viel Weiß.

The trash lying around disappeared when going into the direction of the cathedral and the streets looked more representative there. This contrast inspired me to create two different paintings of house fronts. One with more subtle colors and the other with bright colors and a lot of white in it.
fwbd5,14, Pisa, Via Roma, olio su tela, 50 x 70 cm. In fondo a Via Roma si trova la Piazza con il Duomo e la Torre Pendente, brulicante di turisti. Suppongo che sia così tutto l’anno e a me davano ai nervi quei visitatori con le loro macchine fotografiche. Proprio lì non mi piacerebbe fare una foto e quindi mi concentrai in modo eccessivo sui ruderi del Bagno di Nerone, subito accanto e che nessuno degna di uno sguardo, li studiai come se mi avessero incaricata di analizzarne ogni pietra.
