Ich kämpfe mit dem Stoff, den ich als Untergrund verwende, der ist etwas zu dünn, und ich muss nach jeder Malschicht abspannen und neu aufspannen. Es hat mir einen Strich durch mein Konzept gemacht, dass der erste Interessent, nach längerer Pause, die meine Abnehmer eingelegt hatten, gerade das erste Regenbild aussuchte. Einerseits bereute ich diesen Verkauf, andererseits konnte ich von dem Erlös neues Material einkaufen, und die noch vorhandenen vielen Meter des zu dünnen Stoffes spendete ich an den „Verein zur Rettung kleiner Wildtiere“, wo er angenommen wurde. Es zieht sich insgesamt über Wochen, bis ich das komplizierte zweite und schließlich auch das dritte Regenbild fertig habe. Inzwischen hatte es ein paar Sonnentage gegeben, an denen mir meine Stimmung schon besser für eine weitere südliche Gasse gepasst hätte, aber zum Auslüften des intensiven Terpentingeruchs, von meinen Aktionen mit den Regerinnern, eignen sich die warmen Tage wiederum besser.
fwbd5,40, Quadro di pioggia, serie, olio su tela, 50 x 70 cm. A casa per il momento continuo con i quadri di pioggia. Sto lottando con la stoffa che uso come sfondo, è troppo sottile, dopo ogni mano devo staccarla e stenderla di nuovo. Quando il primo acquirente, dopo una lunga pausa da parte dei miei compratori, scelse proprio il primo quadro di pioggia, mi sentii disturbata nei miei piani. Da una parte mi pentii della vendita, dall’altra parte potei comprare materiale nuovo con il ricavato, e donare i tanti metri di stoffa troppo sottile alla “associazione per la protezione di piccoli animali selvaggi.” Ci vollero delle settimane per finire finalmente il secondo e il terzo quadro di pioggia. Intanto c’erano state alcune giornate di sole e il mio umore era più da stradina meridionale, ma ad areare l’intenso odore di trementina provocato dalle mie azioni con i quadri di pioggia, le giornate calde si prestano di più.

I had a hard time with the canvas because the material was too thin and after every layer I had to tighten the canvas again. The first customer, after a longer period of not selling a single painting, was interested in exactly this painting. Although I regretted the selling of this painting, I was happy because I could afford new fabrics. I donated the thin fabrics to the “Verein zur Rettung kleiner Wildtiere”. It took me many weeks until I finally finished the complicated paintings of the rainy landscapes. During this time the weather changed and I was in the mood for painting more Mediterranean and sunny landscapes, however, I used these days to air my atelier thoroughly and get rid of the acrid turpentine smell.
