Von unseren Vorgängern hatte es offenbar schon lange keiner mehr für nötig befunden, diese ordentlich abzuwaschen. Weil wir das jetzt als Vorarbeit zum Kochen erledigten und alle Töpfe dann innen und außen wie nagelneu blinkten, war dieses Phänomen dann das Hauptthema, und zum Essen wurden es dann nur Mangold mit Kartoffeln und frischem Brot.

It seemed like many of our predecessors didn´t mind cleaning them. Since it took us some time to clean all the pots it was the main discussion topic while we ate mangold with potatoes and fresh bread.

Dei precedenti affittuari nessuno avrà sentito il bisogno di lavarle per bene. Ci mettemmo al lavoro finché le pentole brillarono dentro e fuori. Per il pranzo poi ci dovemmo accontentare di bietole con patate e pane fresco.
