Selbst wenn ich die gleiche Landschaft wieder male, unterscheidet sie sich ganz deutlich von der vorangegangenen und auch von der nächsten. Würde ich mit dem gleichen Zeitaufwand mit einer Model Faschingskrapfen ausstechen, mit der Auflage, dass einer sich nicht vom anderen unterscheiden dürfe, wäre ich todunglücklich. So aber macht mich das Malen von immer gleichen Landschaften, von denen jede einzelne sich von der vorangegangenen unterscheidet, glücklich und gleichzeitig frei für die nächste meiner Landschaften.

If I dedicated the same amount of time to cut out crullers using a cruller cutter following the order that they should not differ from each other, I would be desperately unhappy. Therefore I paint the same scenery again and again but each of them is different from the previous one and I am happy and at the same time free for another scenery to follow.
fwbd4,28, Paesaggio in aprile, olio su tela 40 x 60 cm, 2012. Quando dipingo nuovamente lo stesso paesaggio, questo si differenzia chiaramente dal precedente e dal successivo. Se, con lo stesso dispendio di tempo, cercassi di ritagliare con lo stampo i krapfen di carnevale in modo che ognuno fosse identico all’altro, sarei terribilmente infelice. Il fatto invece di dipingere sempre gli stessi paesaggi e ciascuno diverso dagli altri , mi rende felice ed allo stesso tempo libera per la realizzazione del prossimo paesaggio,
