fwbd6,05, Chioggia, Corso del Popolo, Öl auf Leinwand, 70 x 100 cm. Der Gastgeber hatte uns am Nachmittag beim Dom abgeholt, wo die Fußgängerzone beginnt. Er war uns mit seinem Auto die erlaubte Strecke vorausgefahren. Nach dem Beziehen des Quartiers in der Calle Fidado spazierten wir den „Corso del Popolo“ entlang, um uns einen ersten Überblick zu verschaffen. Die Seite, die jetzt, von der Fährenanlegestelle aus gedacht, rechts von uns lag, war durchgehend mit Baustellennetzen verhängt. Die kleinen Geschäfte und Lokale dahinter, waren aber in Betrieb. Auf der linken Seite, in der Höhe des Doms ist die „Libreria Giunti al Punto“. Dort habe ich mir den Roman „Die Asche meiner Mutter“ von Frank McCourt auf Italienisch („Le ceneri di Angela“) gekauft.

With his car he guided us through the city. After checking into our apartment in the Calle Fidado we took a walk along the Corso del Popolo to get an overview. The right hand part seen from the ferry dock, was completely covered in construction nets. The small shops and cafes behind the nets were opened. On the left hand side, on the level of the cathedral the Libreria Giunti al Punto is located. There I bought the novel Angela´s Ashes by Frank McCourt in Italian (“Le ceneri di Angela”).
fwbd6,05, Chioggia, Corso del Popolo, olio su tela, 70 x 100 cm, 2017. Il padrone del nostro alloggio era venuto a prenderci al Duomo, dove inizia la zona pedonale. Ci aveva preceduto in macchina per tutto il tratto percorribile. Dopo esserci sistemati nell’alloggio in Calle Fidado abbiamo fatto una passeggiata lungo il Corso del Popolo per orientarci. La parte destra, visto dal traghetto, era completamente rivestita di reti da cantiere. I piccoli negozi e locali dietro però erano aperti. Sulla sinistra, all’altezza del Duomo si trova la libreria „ Giunti al Punto“. Lì ho comprato il romanzo „Angela’s Ashes“ di Frank McCourt in italiano.(„ Le ceneri di Angela“).
