pb13, Vor den Mauern, Öl auf Leinwand, 80 x 60 cm, 1994, gehört zu meiner frühen „Quo-vadis-Serie”, die sich von einer späteren hauptsächlich in der Farbgebung unterscheidet. Von den großen Weiß-Flächen bin ich insgesamt abgekommen und farblich bunter geworden. Das Motiv ist eine Kombination aus einem Venedig- Eindruck und dem alten Stall gegenüber des Hauses meiner Kindheit.

This painting is part of my early „Quo vadis series“, which differs from the later one mainly in the colours. I gave up painting large surfaces of white and used more colours instead. The motif is a combination of an impression I got in Venice and the old stable opposite the house of my childhood.
