Das Bild im Bild als Typus habe auch nicht ich erfunden, wohl aber dieses, denn genau diese von mir auf das Bild gemalten Bilder existieren als einzelne noch nicht, wohl aber sehr viele ähnliche. Ein gemalter zwischenzeitlicher Rückblick auf eine fiktive Ausstellung. Da die Bilder als einzelne aber nicht existieren, wohl aber so aussehen, könnte ich behaupten, es handle sich um ein „trompe de l’oeil“, weil der Betrachter sie als in der Wirklichkeit existierende Bilder wahrnimmt.

The pictures in the painting do not yet exist in reality but there are many that are similar to the ones in the painting. In the meantime this is a painted review of a fictitious exhibition. Since the paintings do not exist in reality but look as if they did, I could claim that this is a ‘trompe d’œil’ because the viewer sees them as pictures that really exist.

Il quadro nel quadro nemmeno l´ho inventato io come tipo, invece questo qui sì, perchè proprio questi quadri dipinti sul quadro ancora non esistono come quadri singoli, però molti simili. Una retrospettiva interinale dipinta a un´esposizione fittizia. Siccome i quadri non esistono come quadri singoli, ma sembrano di sì, potrei affermare che si tratti di un “trompe l´oeil”, perchè il contemplatore li percepisce come quadri esistenti nella realtà
