fwbd7,27, Treppenmalerei mit Balkon, Öl auf Leinwand, 50 x 60 cm. Grundsätzlich bin ich auch damit zufrieden, den restlichen Tag im Zimmer zu bleiben, es geht ja darum, einfach wieder einmal ein paar hundert Kilometer von zuhause weg zu sein. Wäre ich zum ersten Mal hier, hätte ich sicher das Gefühl, etwas Großes zu verpassen. Trotzdem: die Lage unseres Quartiers war ungünstig. Kein Geschäft in der Nähe, und ein Hotel ohne Küchenbetrieb. An der Rezeption gab es nichts als Pläne für touristisches Sightseeing. Der Abend verlief dann ohne Essen für mich.

fwbd7,27, Painted stairs with balcony. Thoughts in the hotel Autopark, oi on canvas, 50 x 60 cm. Basically, I was quite satisfied with staying in the room for the rest of the day, after all, it was about simply being a few hundred kilometres away from home again. If it had been my first time there, I would certainly have had the feeling of missing out something big. Nevertheless, the location of our hotel was unfavourable. No shop nearby, and a hotel without restaurant. At the reception there was nothing but sightseeing leaflets for tourists. The evening then passed without food for me.

fwbd7,27, Scale con Balcone, pensieri nell’albergo Autopark, olio su tela, 50 x 60 cm. Tutto sommato mi accontento anche di rimanere in camera il resto della giornata. È già abastanza trovarsi qualche centinaio di chilometri  lontano da casa. Fosse stato il mio primo soggiorno lì sicuramente avrei avuto la sensazione di perdere qualcosa di importante. Comunque, la zona era sconveniente: nessun negozio nei paraggi e un albergo senza cucina. Alla reception solo depliants per i turisti. Una serata  senza cena per me.

fwbd7,31, Landschaft mit Teich, Öl auf Leinwand, 59x59cm. Die täglichen Morgenrunden mit Gina führten in der Phase, in der ich diese Landschaft malte, noch bis zur übernächsten Kreuzung, verbunden mit meinem Schimpfen und Ziehen, um sie von den Kebab Resten fernzuhalten. Das bedeutete für mich viel Innendienst an den einzelnen Tagen, mit kurzen Gängen allein ins nächste Geschäft oder zum Postamt, und ich erträumte mir weite Spaziergänge durch schöne Landschaften.

At the time when I was working on this landscape, the daily morning walks with Gina only took us two blocks away, and went along with my scolding and pulling to keep her away from the kebab leftovers. For me that meant a lot of indoor work on these days with quick trips alone to the next shop or the post office while dreaming of long walks through beautiful landscapes.

fwbd7,31. Paesaggio con Stagno, olio su tela, 59 x 59cm. Nel periodo della creazione di questo quadro i giri mattutini con Gina arrivavano ancora fino al secondo incrocio, e dovevo tirare e sgridare per tenerla lontana dai resti dei kebab per terra.. Per me significava tanto tempo in casa con qualche scappata all‘ alimentari più vicino o alla posta, mentre sognavo lunghe passeggiate attraverso bei paesaggi.

fwbd7,36,Weibliches Portrait, Öl auf Holz, 40 x 50 cm. Nach Cremona wären noch nie Touristen wegen der Malerei gekommen, und der Name der Galerie, die ich ihm genannt hatte, sagte ihm nichts. Er kannte nicht einmal Sofonisba Anguissola. Sie ist eine der ersten namentlich bekannten Renaissance Malerinnen. Aber im populären Sinn bekannt ist sie ja auch wirklich nicht. Um einen Zusammenhang mit der Malerei zu betonen, malte ich ein freies Portrait über die Malerin Sofonisba, aus dem dann ganz von selber das Gesicht meiner Schwester Gerlinde geworden ist.

fwbd7,36, Female portrait, oil on canvas, 40 x 50 cm. Tourists had never come to Cremona for paintings and the name of the gallery didn’t mean anything to him. He hadn’t even heard of Sophonisba Anguissola, who was one of the first female Renaissance painters known by name. Actually, she is not commonly known. In order to emphasize a connection with painting, I depicted a free portrait of the painter Sophonisba, which then, all by itself, became the face of my sister Gerlinde.

fwbd7,36. Ritratto Femminile, olio su tela, 40 x 50 cm, 2019. A Cremona nessun turista viene per la pittura e il nome della galleria d’arte che gli avevo dato, non gli diceva niente. Non sapeva neanche chi fosse Sofonisba Anguissola. È una delle prime pittrici menzionate del rinascimento . Il popolo comune naturalmente , non la conosce. Per sottolineare il nesso con la pittura, dipinsi un ritratto libero della pittrice Sofonisba, che poi si trosformò da sè nel viso della mia sorella Gerlinde.

fwbd7,40, Zwischenraum, Öl auf Leinwand, 40 x 40 cm. Am Domgelände entlang, spazierten wir zur Piazza Roma, wo es eine kleine Parkanlage gibt. In der Mitte waren große Bewegungsspielzeuge für Kinder aufgestellt, und einige Geschäfte hatten Außenlautsprecher mit Weihnachtsmusik. In einer Linkskurve führt die Straße zum großen Marktplatz, wo wir fürs Mittagessen einkauften. Dort war viel Gedränge, und ich musste Gina vorsichtig durchmanövrieren. Die Stände waren in einem U angeordnet, bis zu der schmalen Straße auf der Eingangsseite des Doms, wo wir auch gleich wieder in der Höhe unserer „Casa i Liutai“ waren.

fwbd7,40, Intermediate space on red square, Piazza Roma, oil on canvas, 40 x 40 cm. Along the cathedral, we walked to Piazza Roma, where there is a small park. Large children’s exercise toys had been set up in its centre, and some stores had put up loudspeakers outside the shops and were playing Xmas music. In a curve to the left, the road lead to the large market square, where we did the shopping for our lunch. I had to manoeuvre Gina carefully through the crowd. The stands were arranged in a horseshoe up to the narrow street on the entrance side of the cathedral, where we were right back again at our “Casa il Liutai”.

fwbd7,40. Spazio, Piazza Roma, Quadrato Rosso, olio su tela, 40 x 40 cm, 2018. Lungo il Duomo andammo verso Piazza Roma, dove si trova un piccolo parco con al centro delle macchinine a pagamento per i piccoli. Dagli altoparlanti di alcuni negozi si sentiva musica natalizia. Dopo una curva a sinistra poi il grande mercato dove facemmo le compere per il pranzo.. C’era parecchia confusione e con molta cautela ho dovuto portare Gina  attraverso tutte le bancarelle messe a U, fino alla stretta stradina dalla parte dell’ingresso principale del Duomo. E fummo di ritorno alla „Casa Il Liutaio“.

fwbd7,42,Via Beltrami, Rückweg, Öl auf Leinwand, 32 x 32 cm. Auf dem Rückweg von der Galerie, wo ich die vorigen Bilder abgeholt und die nächste Ausstellung mit dem Galeristen besprochen hatte, war die Sonne hervorgekommen und es war jetzt warm genug, um im Freien einen Kaffee zu trinken. Von dort aus spazierten wir die lange Straße bergab, die in einem U zu der Straße mit unserem Parkplatz führte, weil ich zwischendurch nach dem Auto schaute, und unsere Umrundung diente gleichzeitig als ausgedehnter zusätzlicher Spaziergang. Sobald ich keinen Zeitdruck aussende, geht Gina wieder relativ normal.

On the way back from the gallery, where I had picked up my pictures and discussed the next exhibition with the gallery owner, the sun had come out and it was now warm enough to have a coffee outside. From there we walked down the long street that led in a horseshoe to the street with our parking lot. I checked the car now and then, which gave us the opportunity of an additional good walk. As soon as Gina feels that there is no time pressure, she walks relatively normal again.

fwbd7,42. Via Beltrami, strada di ritorno, olio su tela, 32 x 32 cm. Percorrendo la strada dalla galleria dove avevo preso i quadri della mostra precedente e discusso la prossima mostra con il gallerista, era uscito il sole e faceva abbastanza caldo per prendere un caffè all’aperto. Da lì camminammo per tutta la lunga strada in discesa che girando su se stessa portava alla strada del nostro parcheggio. Così diedi un’occhiata alla macchina e nello stesso tempo quel giro fungeva da  passeggiata supplementare. Quando non sono più stressata, anche Gina torna quasi alla sua andatura normale.

fwbd7,43,Via San Tomaso, Cremona, Öl auf Leinwand, 32x32cm. Beim nächsten Hinausgehen war ich wieder in der Via San Tomaso, wo ich gegenüber vom Carrefour kleine Marktstände gesehen hatte. Ich erstand eine rote Wollhaube, die es aber nur in einer Größe gab, gerade um eine Spur zu groß, aber wenn ich sie mir über meine blaue Haube zog, passte sie. Der nächste Kurzausgang am Abend führte nur ein Stück die Via Platina hinauf Richtung Dom, wo es gegenüber einen Bücherbazar in einem Lokal gab. Ich schmökerte mich durch. Es waren hauptsächlich Kinderbücher, die aber immer gut zum Sprache lernen sind, vor allem, wenn es um Märchen geht, die man in seiner Muttersprache kennt.

fwbd7,43, Via San Tomaso in Cremona, oil on canvas, 32 x 32 cm. The next time I went out, I headed for Via San Tomaso, where I had seen small market-stalls opposite Carrefourt. I bought a red woollen bonnet which was available in one size only and which was just a little oversized. However, when I put it over my blue bonnet, it fitted. When I went out in the evening, I walked up Via Platina a bit, towards the cathedral. Opposite, there was a book bazaar in a restaurant. I was skimming through some books. There were mainly children’s books, but they are always good for learning a language, especially when it comes to fairy tales which you know in your mother tongue.

fwbd7,43, Cremona, Via San Tomaso, olio su tela, 32 x 32 cm. Di nuovo in Via San Tomaso, dove di fronte a un supermercato avevo visto piccole bancarelle. Comprai una cuffietta di lana rossa che però era un tantino troppo grande, ma infilata sopra la vecchia cuffietta blu andava bene. La breve passeggiata serale ci portò sulla Via Platina verso il Duomo. In un bar di fronte c’era un bazar di libri usati. Entrai a frugare e sfogliare. Si trattava soprattutto di libri per bambini che sono molto utili per imparare la lingua.  Se sono fiabe  e favole che conosciamo già nella nostra lingua.
