fwbd5,46, Florenz, Via Tornabuoni, Öl auf Karton und Holz, 50 x 60 cm.  Im Juni 2012 habe ich von der Accademia il Marzocco die erste Auszeichnung bekommen. Seit  2006 hatten sie mich jährlich zur Teilnahme an ihrer nächsten Veranstaltung eingeladen, aber ich hatte bis dahin jedes Mal, mich herzlich bedankend, zurückgeschrieben, dass ich im nächsten Jahr sehr gerne teilnehmen würde. Und diesmal hatte ich rechtzeitig innerhalb der Anmeldungsfrist meine Repros und das ausgefüllte Formular gesendet. Ich hatte meine Originale mit dabei, in der Annahme, es würde sich um eine Gemeinschaftsausstellung oder um einen Wettbewerb handeln. Wegen des großen Quadrats brauchte ich für die drei Bilder allein den Kofferraum, und für unser Gepäck die ganze Rückbank. Unsere Unterbringung hatten wir in der Via Tornabuoni, im Hotel „La Residenza“, neben dem Palazzo Rucellai. Das ist der mit den klobigen Quadern, der für die anderen europäischen Städte zum Vorbild für die mehrstöckigen Bauten geworden war. Gleich ums Eck von der Via Tornabuoni ist  der Palazzo Strozzi, dessen Quarder, verglichen mit dem Palazzo Rucellai, etwas feiner bearbeitet sind. Im Palazzo Strozzi war gerade eine der temporären Ausstellungen zur Malerei unseres Jahrhunderts.

Since 2006 they´ve regularly invited me to their events. I always wrote back that I couldn´t attend but would that I would love to go there the following year. This time I´d sent them all the forms on time in order to take part at the event. I took some originals with me in the belief that it would be a collective exhibition or a competition. Because of the big formats of the paintings which I´d put into the trunk, I had to put the luggage on the rear seats. We were lodged in the hotel “La Residenza” in Via Tornabuoni next to the Palazzo Rucellai. It´s the one with the clunky ashlars which had become the model for multistory buildings in European cities. Just around the corner is the Palazzo Strozzi, which has the same ashlars but just with a finer finish. Within the Palazzo Strozzi was a temporary exhibition about paintings created in this century.

Dal 2006 mi avevano invitata ogni anno ma io avevo sempre ringraziato dell’invito e promesso la mia partecipazione per l’anno dopo. Nel 2012 avevo mandato in tempo le riproduzioni e il modulo compilato. Avevo con me gli originali, immaginando si trattasse di una mostra collettiva o un concorso. Mi serviva tutta la bauliera per i tre quadri e i sedili posteriori per i nostri bagagli. Alloggiavamo in Via Tornabuoni, nell’albergo ”La Residenza”, accanto al Palazzo Rucellai. È quello con la facciata bugnata, divenuto esempio per le altre città europee in fatto di palazzi a più piani. Subito dietro l’angolo di Via Tornabuoni si trova il Palazzo Strozzi, la cui facciata, paragonata a quella del Palazzo Rucellai, è più elaborata. Il Palazzo Strozzi ospitava una mostra temporanea di pittura del nostro secolo.
